Symbolism

Probably the most recognized symbol on Earth made famous by Christianity, it is said in the bible Jesus died on a cross but this could be a miss translation. In the Antiquity of the Greek language, stauros meant either an upright, pale or stake in older Greek texts stauros means pole. The only thing we can be sure, the cross predates Christianity by 1000 years and was used by pagans. Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs carved in stone dated to the Ptolemaic period from 305 to 30 B.C. this depicts exactly like the Latin cross so commonly seen today in the church. Artefact from Belarus, dated 400 to 300 B.C.of a christen styled cross on the head of a bull. The chi-rho cross symbol, used by pagan sun-god and the Babylonians used it for their sky god. To non-Christian people, it is a sign of life, fertility symbol and future life.
